Custom ECU Tuning Files

Professional ECU tuning files for tuners, workshops, and automotive enthusiasts. Upload your original ECU file, select the required tuning options, and receive the completed file directly through your ECUFilePortal account.

What Is a Custom ECU Tuning File?

A custom ECU tuning file is a modified version of the original ECU software read from your vehicle.

Each request starts with the original ECU BIN file you upload. The calibration is prepared specifically for that file and the vehicle information provided with your request.

ECUFilePortal does not provide generic tuning files or public map packs. An original ECU read is required before a custom calibration can be prepared.

Available ECU Tuning Options

The options available depend on the vehicle, engine, ECU, and original software.

Depending on the application, available services may include:

  • Stage 1 tuning
  • Stage 2 tuning
  • DPF solutions
  • EGR solutions
  • AdBlue solutions
  • DTC solutions
  • Sensor-related solutions
  • Other supported ECU modifications

Only the options available for your specific request are shown in the portal.

Stage 1 & Stage 2 Tuning

Stage 1

Stage 1 is generally intended for vehicles with standard or near-standard hardware. It focuses on optimizing the existing vehicle setup through ECU calibration.

Stage 2

Stage 2 is intended for vehicles with suitable supporting hardware modifications, such as upgraded intake, exhaust, or intercooling components.

The correct calibration depends on the actual vehicle setup and ECU application.

Supported Vehicles & ECUs

Vehicle and ECU coverage is shown directly when creating a file request.

You will be asked to provide the available:

  • Vehicle type
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Generation
  • Engine
  • ECU

If a specific model, engine, or ECU is not listed, use the available Unknown option rather than selecting incorrect information.

Support varies by application, so the live request catalog is the most accurate way to check availability.

ECU Reading & Flashing Tools

You will need suitable equipment to read the original ECU file from the vehicle and write the completed file back to the ECU.

ECUFilePortal does not require a specific tool brand. If your equipment produces a suitable ECU BIN file, that file can be submitted through the portal.

Common professional tools may include systems such as KESS3, FLEX, and AutoTuner, depending on the vehicle and ECU.

ECUFilePortal does not sell, operate, or certify flashing equipment. Always use the correct tool and procedure for your application.

How to Order a Custom ECU File

The process is simple:

1. Upload the Original File

Start a new ECU request, enter the available vehicle and ECU information, and upload the original BIN file.

2. Select Your Tuning Options

Choose the available calibration or ECU solutions required for your vehicle.

3. Review the Cost

Each option displays its cost in TuningPoints.

1 TuningPoint = €10

The total is shown before you submit the request.

4. Track Your Request

Follow the progress of your file through your ECUFilePortal account:

Pending → In Progress → Ready

5. Download the Completed File

When the request is marked Ready, the processed ECU file becomes available from the same request in File History.

Custom File Processing

ECUFilePortal is not an instant or automatic map-generation service.

Each request is based on the original ECU file you provide. The completed file is prepared and returned through your account once processing is finished.

Your original file, completed files, and later revisions remain associated with the same request, making it easy to keep each job organized.

File Revisions

If an updated version of your ECU file is required, later processed files can be added to the same request.

Previous versions remain available in File History, so the complete job stays together instead of replacing earlier files.

Pricing

ECUFilePortal uses TuningPoints for file requests.

1 TuningPoint = €10

The final price depends on the tuning options selected for your request. The exact total is displayed before submission.

There is no single fixed price for every custom ECU file because different vehicles and services may require different options.

Technical Support

For questions about a specific ECU file, use the dedicated chat inside the request in File History.

This keeps technical communication connected to the correct vehicle, original file, and completed calibration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a custom ECU tuning file a generic download?
No. Each tuning request is based on the original ECU BIN file you upload for your vehicle.
Do I need the original ECU file?
Yes. The original ECU read is required because the tuning request is prepared from the software currently installed in your ECU.
Are tuning files automatically generated?
No. ECUFilePortal is not an automatic tuning-file generator. Submitted files are processed before the completed version is returned to your account.
How do I order Stage 1 or Stage 2 tuning?
Start a standard ECU file request and select Stage 1 or Stage 2 when the option is available for your application.
What if my vehicle or ECU is not listed?
Enter all available information accurately and use the Unknown option for details that are not listed. Do not select an incorrect ECU or vehicle simply to complete the form.
Can I use my own ECU flashing tool?
Yes. You use your own suitable equipment to read the original ECU file and write the completed file back to the vehicle.
Where will I receive the completed file?
The processed ECU file is attached to the same request in your File History when its status becomes Ready.
